I mentioned earlier about how I was going to NZ for a short holiday correct? So about a week before I was flying off, I got sick. It started with the sore throat then the whole package came along, fever and flu. I was pissed. C'mon, of all the time to get sick... one week before I travel.
It was horrible. I had blocked nose, everything tasted bland, and I was partially deaf from the flu. Thank God my fever subsided the day after but everything else decided to stay longer. Normally when I get the flu bug, it will take me at least a week to be OK again and by OK I mean I don't need to stuff tissue papers up my nose but I still won't be able to hear clearly and food will still be tasteless.
Here's the thing. I DON'T LIKE TO EAT MEDICINE unless I'm super desperate. What to do, scared can't fully enjoy my holiday so I had to drag myself to see the doctor. Told myself I have to finish this medication and get well before the trip. 1st day ad fail. Doc said "Eat 3 flu tablets a day, and finish the antibiotic!". I only ate 1 tablet a day and didn't even touch the antibiotic. 2nd day, didn't eat any ad cos I was like FTS, I'm not gonna eat this and just hoped for the best that miracle will happen.
With me being sick and what not, I still had last minute things to plan, co-ordinate, confirmed, pack, change $$, and not to mentioned work. Loads of things need to be cleared and updated, also hand over stuff to list down and share with my colleagues when I'm away. It is always when I am about to go for holidays that those important clients/ campaigns/ emails/ projects start pouring in. Headache. But despite all the dramas, miracle did happen :) I finally FULLY recovered like 3 days before I was to fly! Was so friggin' happy!
So yeah, those few days before my holidays were drama filled days. More post on the trip soon. Sorry its taking some time, I have a lot of outstanding work in the office to clear ok! Plus post vacation blues are not helping :(
Let me just share one of my favourite picture from over 6,000 shots we took. This was taken at the place we were staying in Te Anau, Lakeview Holiday Park.
It was a beautiful morning, bright golden trees, crystal clear lake, green manicured lawn, snow capped mountain in the distant, cool morning breeze, and with a little rainbow peaking through. I wish I could wake up to this every morning :)
Its quite common to hear people say "Think positive!", "If you can dream it you can do it", "Nothing is impossible!".
I'm guilty of that too but not everyone accepts or believes in positive thinking. Some consider this subject as nonsense. Yes, always think positive they say. I don't deny the fact that positive thinking helps me when I'm worried, sad, or down. I'm sure it is not only me.
Look at Jillian Michaels, the tough & toned ex-trainer of The Biggest Loser. At age 12, she weighed 79kg at 150cm. At 14, she began to take control of her weight problem. By 17, she was working as a personal trainer. And Jennifer Hudson, she was inspired to change her life when her son was born.

These 2 beautiful women definitely worked hard physically to get in and stay in shape, but I'm pretty sure positive thinking and self assurance helped them a lot too emotionally.
This applies to all aspect of life la... not just losing weight. Let's just say positive thinking helps to develop a mental attitude that will help people cope with whatever situation that life may present them.
As they say, when life gives you lemon, make lemonade. Don't go squeezing 'em in people's eyes. wtf. Being an optimist or a pessimist boils down to the way you talk to yourself but as we journey through life, we need to be REALISTIC too.. NOT EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE one k..
